One-line gratitude journal examples
A gratitude journal doesn't need pages. One line before bed about something you're thankful for is enough. Below are real lines people floated into the night sky.
Gratitude journal prompts
- What made you smile today?
- Who helped you today, even a little?
- What small thing went right, or what did you get through?
- What's one thing you hope for tomorrow? Ending on a wish closes even a hard day with hope.
Why keep one
People who wrote down things they were grateful for felt more positive in a well-known study (Emmons & McCullough, 2003), and more positive thoughts before sleep have been linked to better sleep (Wood et al., 2009). Results vary from person to person, so a habit small enough to keep every night matters more than a big resolution.

A gratitude journal app for one line
Rising Hope is a gratitude journal app where your line floats up on a balloon into a night sky. You post without a name, and someone may leave a flower with a few warm words on it. Up to three a day, then off to sleep.
